Buses make the journey from Mexico City to Tuxtla Gutierrez daily; the journey takes approximately 15 hours and then from Tuxtla Gutierrez one can take an "Omnibus" that leaves every 20 minutes to San Cristóbal for about 40 pesos. San Cristobal is located about 45 minutes from Tuxtla Gutierrez. Regional buses also offer daily departures to and from San Cristobal de las Casas from Villahermosa, Campeche, and Merida.
